The Brigham Young University–Idaho (BYU–Idaho or BYUI) is a private university in Rexburg, Idaho. The university is owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) which was founded in 1888.

Who can Apply for BYU-Idaho Scholarship Application?
It is open for students studying at the Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU-Idaho). To be eligible for the scholarship award, every applicant has to be either a freshman, transfer, or continuing student at the BYU-Idaho.
However, international students are advised to first secure an admission into the university before applying for the scholarship award.

Requirements for Application of BYU-Idaho Scholarship application
- Every applicant must be a student of the university.
- The scholarship for BYU-IDAHO is divided into any of the following categories: Freshman, Transfer and Continuing student. Each applicant must be in either of the aforementioned categories.
- Every applicant must have less than 140 cumulative credits earned at the time of evaluation. All credits appearing on the student’s official transcript are counted including Advanced Placement, language exam credits, transfer credits, etc.
Requirements for Freshman student
Students under this category must have earned less than 14 BYU-Idaho credits and less than 24 transfer college credits earned at post-high school graduation. The scholarship for Freshman is based on high school GPA at the time of evaluation.
Requirements for Transfer student
Scholars under this category must have earned less than 14 BYU-Idaho credits and more than 24 transfer college credits earned at post-high school graduation. The scholarship for Transfer students are based on student’s cumulative transfer GPA from prior university at the time of evaluation.
Requirements for Continuing student
Applicants under this category must have earned at least 14 BYU-Idaho credits. The scholarship for Continuing student is based upon the completion of 14 BYUI credits, and the student’s cumulative BYU-Idaho GPA at the end of the previous year’s Fall semester.
How to Apply for the BYUI Scholarship
Once you are deemed eligible, the next step is to apply for the financial aid. As mentioned before, you must be a student of the university before you can be qualified for application.
Firstly, to be evaluated for the BYU-Idaho Grant, applicants must complete the BYU-Idaho Grant Application and corresponding FAFSA by March 1st. International and DACA students are not required to submit the FAFSA.
Also, ensure that all credits appearing on the student’s official transcript are counted including Advanced Placement, language exam credits, transfer credits, etc.
Application Deadlines
The BYU-IDAHO Scholarship opens from October 1st to March 1st each year, following the school year.
Note: The time of evaluation is always 1st of March unless the applicant is a recently returned missionary who returned home from their mission after 1st of March, or a late admit who was admitted to BYU-Idaho after the 1st of March deadline.
