The Aker Inspire Scholarship Program (AISP) also known as Aker Energy Scholarship is an annual financial aid program established to help undergraduate students majorly in Ghana.
The Aker Energy company offers a fully-funded scholarship. This means, recipients will enjoy a complete tuition for four years or more, depending on the duration of their study.
Scholars will also receive a Laptop, monthly transportation allowance, accommodation, clothing allowance, feeding allowance, and other related expenses. However, interested students must demonstrate need for financial assistance and proof of academic excellence to participate.

About Aker Energy Scholarship Program
Aker Energy is an oil and gas exploration company located in Ghana and began operations in 2018. The company partners with Fueltrade Ghana Ltd, Lukoil Overseas and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation. The company is currently on a massive project of developing the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points block, about 150 km offshore Ghana.
The Oil and Gas company recognizes that by empowering the younger generation in Ghana, there is a high tendency of strengthening the country’s economy.
As a result, the Aker Energy scholarship was established in 2012 with over 1,000 students as beneficiaries. This scholarship program focuses majorly on financial struggling students seeking to pursue a bachelor’s degree in any of the country’s public universities.
Aker’s energy scholarship has created a budget to sponsor at least 50 undergraduate students each year on a full funded scholarship. Their cost of tuition, living, books, feeding and down to their clothes is covered for the duration of their study.
The oil and gas company and its partners are on a mission to contribute to the socio-economic growth by helping to develop and supply the necessary skills and expertise needed to strengthen the growing economy of Ghana.
Who can apply for this Scholarship
The Aker Energy Scholarship is open to Ghanaian students in need of financial assistance, and seeking to pursue an undergraduate program in a public university to study a wide variety of academic, technical, or vocational fields.
While this scholarship is strictly for Ghanaians, foreign students can also apply. However, the application requirements and selection process are usually intensive.
Programs to Study
Interested students are free to study any program/field provided their school of choice is a public university located in Ghana. While this is an oil and gas company scholarship program, it is advisable to study a field relating to science, technology and engineering. This will create an opportunity to work with Aker’s Energy or partners after your graduation.
Aker Energy Scholarship Eligibility
For newly graduated High school/secondary students in Ghana, you must pass the following requirements to be considered eligible.
- You must be a Ghanaian (Foreign students can apply, but be willing to study in a public university in Ghana).
- Applicant must demonstrate need of financial assistance.
- Must be willing to study in a Public university or an accredited private technical/vocational institutions located in Ghana.
- Applicants must always provide valid information when required.
- You must attend the interview process and participate (if shortlisted).
Required Documents for Application

- Admission letter or proof of application to a public university
- Passport photograph (not more than 6 months old)

How to apply for Aker Energy Scholarship

Aker Energy Scholarship Interview Questions
Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview. You are expected to attend the interview as it is a key factor to getting selected.
You will be asked familiar questions during your interview session such as your educational profile, personal information, why you deserve the scholarship, why you chose your field of study, what you tend to do after studying, etc. The most important factor is being able to confidently speak and express yourself. Make the scholarship committee believe in your aspirations.
