The American Dental Education Association (ADEA), is a non-profit organization founded to oversea the affairs of Dental professionals in Canada and the United States of America. It was founded in 1923 as the American Association of Dental Schools, ADEA, and it is based in Washington, DC.

Crest Oral-B in conjunction with ADEA and P&G developed the ADEA/Oral-B scholarship for predoctoral dental students. The program awards only two students each year a scholarship in any accredited ADEA institution.

This dental hygiene scholarship is funded by ADEA, Crest Oral-B and P&G. It is a recurring program that has been awarding scholarships for more than 10 years.
Who can apply for ADEA/Crest Oral-B Scholarship?
The scholarship is open to predoctoral dental students pursuing academic careers under an approved ADEA member institution. Interested students must also demonstrate their commitment towards acquiring an advanced education in dentistry.
List of ADEA Member Institutions
You can only apply for the ADEA/Crest Oral-B scholarships if you are enrolled in any of the ADEA member institutions. These member institutions consist of the following:
- All 76 dental schools in the United States and Canada.
- Over 800 allied and advanced dental education programs.
- Over 20,000 faculty, staff, deans, program directors and students.
- 66 corporations working in oral health education.
Scholarship Eligibility
To be fully eligible for the Crest Oral-B scholarship, applicants must pass the following requirements:
- You must be enrolled in a predoctoral program at any of ADEA member institution.
- Applicant must demonstrate interest in advanced education.
- You must be an ADEA member.
- Fully demonstrate your commitment to pursing a professional dental career.
- Be either a part-time or full-time student.
Scholarship Benefits
ADEA/Crest Oral-B scholarship awards two students $5,500 each. The scholarship award comprises your tuition and other educational needs.
Required Documents for Crest Oral-B Scholarships
The following documents will be needed during your ADEA online application:
- A personal statement describing your experiences, influences and decision-making that demonstrate a firm commitment to becoming a dental educator.
- A letter of recommendation from a recognized individual. A letter from your student’s dean is highly recommendable.
- Original academic transcripts obtained from your school.
- Individual letters of nomination and evaluation from two faculty members that address your career goals.

Selection Process
Selection will be based on your application, reason for applying and your commitment to becoming a dental educator and professional. Be reminded that not all applicants will get awarded. The ADEA scholarship will only award two students the sum of $5,500 each.

ADEA/Crest Oral-B Scholarship Deadline

Notification
Every student who applied for the ADEA scholarship will receive a notification on or before 1st of February 2023. The notification will concern your application status. Thereafter, only selected students will receive the award.
Awards will be announced during the 2023 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition, March 11–14, 2023, then disbursements of the scholarship will commence immediately.
